AT THE OLD QUARTER SOUQ WAQIF

We Visited one of the must-visited place when one is in DOHA which is Souq Wakif. It is Located in the center of the town quite near the "Philipini Souq", this is an old Bedouin souq which was recently been renovated and transformed into a tourist attraction all with lush evening lights, plus the eatery and fancy dining places.

Parts of the souk is very nice decorated and filled with a lot of posh dining - from Thai, Turkish, arabic, Indian all types of exotic middle eastern restaurants. It would be nice and be very enjoyable to sit outside and make tambay during the cooler months while watching people passing by along the cobble stoned streets.

There is also a gallery with a lots of art on display with any old cinema posters and arts items whih are very unique to Qatar.

Further to inside you can also go to the old quarter, which was refurbished but maintaining the "Unique OLD LOOK" of the souq whih is modified to retain the antique souq and more local with some arabic food joints and antique shops. Inside this area there are different parts of the souk which sells pipes, brass ware, selling clothes, spices, old tourist souvenirs and even pets like canaries or birds!
