MATTERS FOR IMPROVEMENT

I have made the following observations that needs particular attention based on my judgement:

1. The canteen needs improvement, a more responsive to the needs of the employees...many perceived lack of services.

2. The security guards are perceived to be over familiar with the the employees...quite true observation because the guards most often are too friendly with the employee.

3. The coop needs help...its not responsive to the needs of the mmembers anymore...it just suspended loans application.

4. The employees need a system of cash advances but because of the coop the managemnet does not take it quite well to take this responsibility which the coop should have handled.

5. The sss applications of the employees also needs attention...most employees would take a leave of absence just to go to the sss for this matter.

6. There is a need to make documentation more relevant top its operations and to remind the installation of rules and regulations.

ahhh...my mind is racing and there just too many things that could be made worthwhile.

As a Workshop Facilitator

Its been quite a while since the last time I was given the opportunity to design a course outline for an employee development program which I am quite happy that I was able to successfully accomplish. We were not able to start immediately from the schedule of 8 a.m. but I was still able to follow suit with my schedule for my lectures and presentation.

I use power point all through out the sessions that I designed and I do believe that I made quite an impression with the rest of the staff since this is one of my first projects undertaken since I joined the company. The last time I attended their staff meetings...many departments were reporting infront of the organization but were simply talking infront...so I do believe that they do have the potential to do actual planned presentations complete with visual aids...its just that they were not shown how to do it... this is my challenge to them after teaching and giving them tips on how to make a good presentation.

anyway...It was generally quite a successful undertaking...I hope that there will be more positive feedback from the rest of the staff...as for my performance...I still do believe that it wasn't picture perfect ....but I believe that I did good in the job...hopefully the top management will be happy and supportive of more workshops in the near future...

A Week with no Top management

I'm ask to go to the home of my boss to have a meeting with him regarding some matters that i should take up with some of the staff because they will be gone for a week and I'd be left behind to watch the fort...anyway...I've got my work cut out for me this week...data will have to be collected and some work reviewed but the gist of it all is the workshop...

1st Project at work

My First major project at work was to make a course outline for a new seminar/workshop that I developed with Training materials which I called Staff Development Workshop...I will facilitate the workshop which I designed as an introductory stage/process for organizational development...the couse outline goes like...Introduction to OD and Change management...Knowledge and skills inventory...time management...value formation (the crux of the whole workshop) effective communication...problem solving...presentation techniques...its gonna be held at the multi-purpose hall on July 15, 2006...from 8-5:00 p.m....my power point presentation is all work out already...for the rest of the week before the workshop...I would fine tune my presentation materials...in preparation for the activity...

Plans for action

I'm still in the path of organizing my plans on what are the best activities that I would like to go into...my priorities are as follows:

02. Develop content for the corporate profile
03. Staff development program

The staff development program is more of a seminar/workshop format...I'm planning to discuss and take up the following items which are in my mind...

04. Value Formation
05. Effective Communication
06. Presentation skills

some theories I would like to profess that are basic...maslow's heirarchy of needs...likert's...im ok your ok...jo hari window...and structures leaning experience exercises...

my mind is going so fast...feeling the need to pace myself more...but the sense of urgency is there...I must not let my guard down and relax...being new to the job offers more challenges...out in the open...
